We’re pleased to announce that Purifas® CEO Ibrahim Samaan has been named a finalist in the 2020-2021 Allied Health Awards for Physiotherapist of the Year!
The Australian Allied Health Awards bring together the nation’s finest Allied Health professionals to recognise their work and dedication.
A Physiotherapist on a mission, Ibrahim has been nominated for his commitment to therapy hygiene. Through his experience in public and private allied health sectors, Ibrahim saw first-hand the lack of guidance and guidelines surrounding hygiene during treatment. In particular, he noticed the infectiveness of using cradle paper and towels as standard practice during prone treatments.
Ibrahim launched Purifas® in October 2019 with a vision to re-define standards in therapy hygiene and help therapists improve their duty of care. He invented the Purifas® FaceShield™ – a revolutionary hygiene solution unique to the therapy industry. It is the first and only product worldwide to provide full face hole coverage and reduce the transmission of bacteria during prone treatments. The FaceShield™ has since caught the attention of therapists worldwide and Purifas® has expanded globally.
Over 750 nominations from Allied Health professionals were considered in this award program. Winners will be determined by five key criteria:
Ensuring top-notch hygiene in therapy and allied health settings is vital for client safety. Shared equipment can easily lead to cross-contamination without strict hygiene protocols. Towels, frequently used in these environments, can harbour bacteria even after washing, posing risks to both clients and therapists. This guide will help you understand these risks, avoid common mistakes and implement the best hygiene practices, all while being environmentally conscious.
